CONCRETE FORMWORK CARPENTER (CREW LEAD)

Job Description

Work Setting: Industrial, Commercial, Institutional, Residential

Job type: Full-time

Responsibilities:
• Representing City Concrete Construction Inc. on site by liaising with client personnel in a professional manner.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to work quickly, accurately, and safely while delivering quality workmanship
• Build and set footings
• Erect and dismantle concrete forming systems such as camlocks, burke clamps, and modular forms.
• Erect and dismantle specialty forming systems (PERI, etc.) at times.
• Construct and erect columns
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding
• Construct suspended slabs
• Form concrete stairs
• Construct elevator cores
• Build retaining walls
• Other work that relates to concrete forming

Qualifications:
• 3+ years’ experience in formwork carpentry doing the list of tasks indicated above
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Trade school diploma or certification is preferred
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required according to building codes.
• Knowledgeable about construction laser, theodolites, or total station is preferred
• Having your own tools/Equipment, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles etc. is preferred
• Valid safety certificates are required – WHMIS, Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps. First aid, working at heights.
• Valid G driver’s license & own vehicle is preferred as transit is not always available
• Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Team/Crew leadership experience is preferred
• Positive attitude is a must
• A team player and has good communication skills
